First Post: Tom’s Math Weblog

The purpose of this blog is to help me organize. To get as much of what’s in my head to a place where my advisor can access it as easily as I can. In the proposed format topics or small projects will be main entries and any work I do on them will be added in the comments.

Ideally I would write to as broad an audience as possible but for now the blog is intended primarily for me and my advisor. On that note, the other new structure I’m imposing on myself will be twice weekly emails to my advisor, by Saturday midnight and Tuesday midnight, containing

1. Proposals for new questions,
2. “addresses” to and status on all outstanding questions, and
3. a rough work schedule until the next update.
