The second half of this past week I found myself reading from Fullton and Harris’ Representation Theory. At that time I noticed a sensation like I might have when, after having gotten lost in a foreign city, I make it back to the house of a local friend.

In curiosity I wandered from street to street carelessly taking one turn after another. Finally I stopped to admire some very impressive landmark. Then all at once it hit me: I don’t know where I am! Frantically then I tried to find my way to someplace I knew. How relieved I was when I saw that familiar door, when coming in I could sit and relax. After dinner, now, I think back on the landmark. Where was that? How do I get there from here?
